Aspect kindergarten is part of the International Language Academy “ASPECT” (ILA) which is represented by an adult language center “ILA”, a British school, a British nursery school, the Humpty Dumpty Early Learning Centre, Study abroad Centre and various summer sessions. ILA was established in 1995 as a branch of Nord Anglia, the largest corporation in the field of private education in Great Britain, which was created in 1972 and comprised 15 educational centers in 6 countries of the world. In August 2001 ILA ceased being a member of Nord Anglia and became an independent company that offers highly-qualify professional teaching of foreign languages.
When the Aspect kindergarten was first set up, we only had one class which was English-based (the Orange Group), but over the years we have expanded the English-based section of the kindergarten to other groups. Today all our class groups are English-based except one (the Yellow Group) and this group will be also English-based from August this year (2012).
The first few kindergarten years were difficult because the teaching staff was not large and we had to recruit from abroad in England and in the US. This was a slow process. Now we have many native
speakers teaching English, as well as many Russian staff who speak with near-native quality. The early years were also a problem because we had to find security staff and erect fencing around the garden for the children’s safety at playtimes. Over the years we have added new facilities each year such as the café, the English resource room, and new play equipment. Last year we were pleased to receive a visit from the British consul and he officially opened the “English garden”.
Our student numbers have increased every year, and today it is more than 200, with the kindergarten staff numbering more than 70.
